Suvarnabhumi Airport, often referred to informally as Bangkok Airport, is one of two international airports serving Bangkok, Thailand. The other is Don Mueang International Airport, which operated as the main international airport from 1924 to 2006 before becoming Bangkok’s low-cost airline hub in 2007. Suvarnabhumi spans 3,240 hectares (32.4 km²; 8,000 acres), making it one of the largest international airports in Southeast Asia and a key regional aviation hub.
